Kris' wedding party....
Kris and her husband never really had a "real" wedding, so when they decided to reaffirm their vows this July, Kris decided it was time for a bash. We collaborated on 4 dresses, including her daughter Bailey and 2 of her best friends as bridal attendants.
The color scheme was a lavendar purple and a mint green, so all the dresses have some of that in it, using different fabrics and textures to make them individual from each other. The general wedding theme was 1910's, one of Kris' favorite fashion era.
We used a lot of peachskin for this project, as it is a really cool material to work with. Very soft and fluid, it has some weight and drapes beautifully. Sue's dress, all the way on the left is made entirely from a royal purple peachskin, with a lavendar chiffon top skirt and sleeves. The one thing that ties all the dresses together was a wide ribbon, which everybody has as an accent at the waist or underbust. Not easily made out, due to the flowers...
For Bailey's dress we used an embrodered organza, which overlays a mint green peachskin base. Bailey is Kris adorable dot next to Sue.

Fitting Amy's dress was marvelous, because while Kris and I talked on the phone, Amy was there, wearing the dress and Kris could pin it while talking to me and take pics which I had 5 minutes later. Perfect and a rare treat.
Here are some pictures I took before shipping it all out...Save them to your desktop to open them in their original size....

Once again everybody was totally floored on how well all of these fit and how I am able to do this all without ever meeting any of the ladies involved in person. We did have a small problem with Bailey, tough, who is, how shall I say, a bit tall for her age, but we prevailed by making a second dress 2 sizes bigger, which fit perfectly. Bailey looks much older in the pictures, but she is actually only 7 years. With both parents towering at 6 feet tall, she is much taller than her peers and therefor bigger in size also.
